Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, I had the opportunity to interact with different cultures and languages. In my early years, I became very fascinated with science and geography (strange combination indeed) and could not wait to read another book on either subject. Although my dad's dream for me was in the medical profession, I went for the beat of the distant drummers (you can tell I love to travel). Providentially, I landed in Singapore and met my lovely wife, Amy, while pursuing a college education.

Hearing the beat of the great Distant Drummer, my young family and I left for the United States in 1988. A chain of events led to a hardly co-incidental culmination of the American dream of finishing my Ph.D, working in a prestigious university system, and traveled the world. In the last ten years, the explosion of the Internet and my career path seems to work hand in hand. I'm very grateful for the opportunities God and this country have given me.

My wife and I have two daughters, Carissa and Carina (20 and 8 - almost 12 years apart). We spent time travelling together on most of my trips. Living in the Chattanooga area gives us plenty of scenic outdoor recreations during the weekends. This is the first time we live this far south. Our previous homes were in Michigan and Minnesota. We hope to go further south or somewhere more tropical some day.

In my leisure hours, I spend time my with children, program more games, read a book or two, research more places to travel, study a new book in the Bible, and think of more dreams....
